Episode Notes

01/07/2026 – This episode is no longer available. I’ve replaced it with a short audio explaining my reasons. I’ll definitely return to this case in the future though!

I’m not sure why I found this episode so very difficult. Perhaps because it’s so recent. Perhaps because it’s so horrific.

I wrote the script, and I started recording and…I had to stop. It was too much, even for me. So this is the first episode which got a full re-write. I’m not delighted with the editing on it, it was before I had really got my mic settings sorted out, but I hope it’s listenable at least.

It’s the sort of horror you see in movies, or imagine from famous crimes of the past. But this is now – this is real life, in Manchester, today.

This happened in an area I used to walk through all the time as a student. I remember reading about the discovery of body parts, but I heard no more about the case, until I went digging. I’m baffled as to why this didn’t gain national attention.

I couldn’t find details of why the second housemate wasn’t charged, Perhaps this information will emerge in the future. Although someone has been found guilty and jailed, it doesn’t feel as though Stuart has received full justice.
